What soccer equipment is needed?
For their safety, Alberta Soccer does not permit players to wear any jewelry during games or practices. This includes: earrings, necklaces, bracelets, bobby pins. Taping of jewelry is not sufficient to prevent player injury.
All players provide their shoes, water bottles and shin pads are mandatory.
Parents, please remember to wash your child's jersey, shorts and socks frequently. Shin pads can also be washed and then air dried. Hot dryers can damage jerseys.
Fitting shin pads: Make sure to read the size chart carefully to ensure a great fit. You'll want your shin guards to cover most of the area between your ankle and knee. Shin guards should fit snugly and be at least 2 below the knee.
U3 to U5 players also provide their own shorts and socks (if not provided by Tim Hortons) which fully cover their shin pads.
Outdoor U3 players can wear outdoor sneakers. However, we suggest outdoor soccer cleats because the grass is very slippery when it is wet.
Outdoor U5 to U17 players should wear outdoor soccer cleats.
Indoor U3 to U5 players should wear indoor sneakers.
Indoor U7 to U17 players should wear indoor soccer shoes (no outdoor cleats).
Jerseys
Timbit Jerseys are generously provided by Tim Hortons. The Timbit players U3, and U5 can keep their jerseys at the end of the Outdoor season.
U7 and U17 jerseys are sponsored by generous sponsors each year. Players keep their jerseys at the end of the Outdoor season.
